You Promised Me Paradise

Dit thema leunt nauw aan bij The American Dream. We streven als mens, en meer in het bijzonder als kunstenaar, naar het goede, het ware, en dit vanuit een authentieke benadering van het ons omgevende. Om vervolgens in een (soms korte) toestand van opperste geluk te vertoeven. Dit kan zich uiten in een verscheidenheid aan benaderingswijzen: van een zelfgekozen afzondering (het atelier) tot het opgaan in de Ander.

This theme is closely related to The American Dream. As human beings, and more in particular as artists, we strive for the good, the true, and this from an authentic approach to the environment around us. Then to dwell in a (sometimes brief) state of supreme happiness. This can be expressed in a variety of approaches: from a self-chosen seclusion (the studio) to being absorbed in the Other.
